We started August out by going to the Nickelback (with Saving Abel, Papa Roach and Hinder) concert, which was amazing! We had a very nice trip to Raleigh and back home. Ended up with 377 pictures and a video. Youtube has several other videos from the same concert. Just look up Nickelback Raleigh 8-1-09.
The first week of August went by relatively quickly. I took a few pictures of my flowers and some berries from my back yard.
I took these for Chandra. Her favorite flower is the Hosta and I just love these two. The first one is the really big one beside my porch, the second pic is a close-up of the flower stalks.

This hosta is so small and partially hidden by a hydrangea, but it’s blooming and so cute!

I forget the real name of these, some people call them monkey grass.

Two of my gladiolas are still blooming. I think they’re so pretty!

The 7th was my birthday. Since Friday is our Saturday, we slept in and spent most of the day with friends online (in WoW). Then we went to my favorite Chinese restaurant (yummy!).
We’ll be doing Jeff’s academic achievement test soon, which of course he does not happily anticipate. What kid likes academic testing though? We usually start our school year near the end of September because of Brittany’s birthday on Sept. 23. Even though she’s finished, we’ll probably stick to that schedule. It seems to work well for us.
A ray of hope for those of you tired of hearing me whine that Chris hasn’t been online much – she’s here more now
She’s still having computer issues and most of her time online is spent working on websites, but at least we can chat from time to time.
