I’d like to know what “experts” made the comment in the very last sentence of this article.

Chihuahuas Confront Cougar

If the cougar REALLY wanted to make a meal of the dogs, don’t you think it would have? Three pound dogs kept a large cat like that backed into a garage because it was afraid. It was probably looking for food and/or shelter, yes.

I hate stories like this that make the animal look like the bad guy. I live in the mountainous area of Southwest VA. We’ve seen bears, bobcats, owls and raccoons. Those last two pose just as much threat to my shih tzu’s safety as a bear or large cat. We know they live here along with other big animals like panthers. Is it the animal’s fault if my dog gets attacked in my back yard at night near the mountain? Nope. We knew they lived here and we chose to live here.

Anyway the whole idea of “experts” saying the cat was probably planning to eat the chihuahuas just made me giggle. I seriously hope those “experts” didn’t spend a lot of money on school and training
