Today I’m supposed to be finishing out my weekend but I’m still writing articles. Patrick was just asking me about work – the usual how many articles do you have, are you going to take a day off any time soon…? One of the writers on my team commented on me working on the weekend too. It reminded me of an article I saw on CNN last week.
The article talked about how more people are working from home now and get so caught up in what they’re doing that their leisure time is also work time. Take what I do for instance. I love researching various topics and writing articles on them. I just happen to make money doing what I love. Most days I don’t even feel like I’m working. To add to the enjoyment of my job, I manage a team of excellent writers so my editing skills are rarely challenged.
The flexibility of working from home lets me take the days I want off instead of being strapped to a “weekend” per se. This weekend is supposed to be rainy with scattered thunderstorms. The power may flicker some but all things considered, what would I do if I wasn’t working? Flower gardens are muddy, yard’s all wet, Hayleigh has already had a bath.. I do have laundry going, that’s a never-ending battle
So yes, I’m enjoying my work yet again today. I’ll take most of a day off through the week this week when it’s supposed to be nice and sunny and I can get the most benefit from it
For now I’ll simply enjoy my “weisure” (work/leisure) time!
