*mutter*… April..May…June.. July.. August.. September.. October.. November… Ok 8 months early or 4 months late?
Anyway, Patrick got in the mood for a big Thanksgiving style dinner. So we went to Food City last night and got everything we’d need. We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing and rolls. Wow, looking at it like this, it’s actually a short list isn’t it. Oh and pecan pie and turtle brownies.
*tap foot* still a short list.
We got home from Food City and Hayleigh immediately smelled bird! She LOVES chicken and turkey. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!! She sat at my feet the whole time I was preparing the turkey to put it in the roaster. When she was about a year old and got really sick (pyometra.. spay your girlies early!!), the only thing I could get her to eat was deli sliced chicken, and only a small bite at a time. I don’t know if that experience caused it or if she just LOVES the taste that much
Of course as the mommy I like to think it’s all ME!
Anyway it was DELICIOUS!! I made the ham and started the turkey last night. Of course Miss Hayleigh had to have some ham as soon as it was done last night. Daddy got a bite so she had to have a bite too!
Today, after I finished cooking and announced that everything was done, the kitchen was raided by a starving band of Wallaces. While Brittany was making her plate, Hayleigh picked up her “special food” bowl and tossed it toward her
yes, she tosses her bowl when it’s empty. So she (of course) got some turkey bits and broth with dog food (yum!) in her “special” bowl. She wanted more, but now she’s conked out on the big black pillow on the futon
She’s not the only one that passed out. Patrick and I were up late last night keeping an eye on the turkey. So after he ate, he passed out too. He has this little program on his work computer that clicks the “get chat” button for him when a chat is available, so while he’s waiting for it to pick up a ticket, he’s asleep. Rough job huh?! (ok yeah it does get stressful at times LOL)
I got a big 18-article order in today. Right now we have 26 articles in the queue, all due by next Wed plus 4 more that I haven’t posted yet
I LOVE it! Then again I’m probably insane.

I forgot to mention gravy… we had turkey gravy too
Kinda weird. We had turkey yesterday, too. Turkey, stuffing & rice. But I went the easy way. Frozen dinners. =D
LMBO @ Hayleigh throwing her bowl at Brittany. And I think you’re right. It must be that you’re the mommy. There’s no other explanation.
Turkey AND ham count as like 6 things, I think.
That sounds really good. Sometimes I get in the mood to do a holiday meal in the off days, too. I love to cook and when you make that stuff, the smell alone gives you that “holiday” feeling.
Sometimes I’ll get a whole chicken from the store and make it just to get that same smell in the house. It’s cheaper that way anyway, instead of buying skinless, boneless breasts or something. Nothing wrong with leftovers either!
My dogs… it’s anything poultry, garlic, or peanut butter. They go crazy over those smells.
