Flowers, Flowers, Flowers!

Well, not technically I guess. They’re actually just little sprouts, but “sprouts, sprouts, sprouts” didn’t have the same ring to it

I mentioned a couple of days ago that I’d planted 72 seeds. I think all but 2 have sprouted. Those two were seeds from my flower garden from about 2 years ago, so I’m not surprised.

My list of things to do this summer has grown! I’m NOT going to be so swamped with school work this year, because I’m not registering for the summer semester. So, I AM going to be spending a lot more time in the flower gardens and getting the yard cleaned up again. Yards should have more grass than weeds, and that’s going to be my primary “yard” goal this year; more grass than weeds I’m going to work on expanding my walkway to something more along the lines of a nature path around the house. I have several areas that are bare and nothing grows there, so I’m just going to make it decorative instead of fighting with it.

I bought 2 types of ferns to go along the back porch. One is a Christmas Fern the other is a Cinnamon Fern. The area around my back porch has a lot of space that COULD house plants, but it’s so shady and wet there all the time that most things just don’t survive. Hopefully ferns will flourish! I’m going to clean the existing vines out of the corner of the front porch and plant alyssum and morning glories there with a few day lilies to bring out some color. I bought a variety of colored day lily bulbs and several other things to add some color with

Of course my primary decoration for outside is a BUNCH of natural rock that was already here on the hillside when we bought the house, so I can’t wait to get into it!
