A long week!

This week started out so great Patrick was able to work out of the Norton office Monday and Tuesday. It was so great to have him come home both evenings. He left yesterday morning to go to Lebanon to work though. He won’t be home till tomorrow evening. Things may be changing pretty quickly here though.

Patrick talked to a guy who’s a Director of Support for Telvisio. Telvisio is a company that hires home-based tech support representatives to help people with problems they’re having with computers and other electronic equipment. It’s a remote help desk position that deals with much more than computers. He would be answering phone calls from home and helping people fix things, a lot like what he does now. Except for the whole “from home” part

He emailed his supervisor today intending to give notice. The reply email asked if it would make a difference in his decision if he could work from the Norton office. Patrick told him it definitely would, probably won’t really hear anything back for a few days though. It has to go through the proper channels and see if IBM/AT&T can work out something. Basically if he can’t work at the Norton office, he’s going to continue on with the notice.

It will be VERY different having both of us work from home! It’s going to take some getting used to for sure. I’m used to ignoring the little tiffs the kids get into throughout the day. I’m not used to ignoring Patrick because he’s not here through the week while I’m trying to work

I ordered the kids’ achievement tests last week, they came yesterday. I’ll have to get into that probably tomorrow. I dread it! It only takes about 5 hours, but still.. I’m sure you remember how “fun” it was to go through academic testing and coloring in so many A B C D circles that you wanted to poke your eyes out.

Oh! I got an email from my friend Anna! I used to work with her at AT&T, we were in training together. And just after I typed that sentence I got a little pop-up notice that Kristy, another friend from AT&T emailed me! I’m so glad they hadn’t totally forgotten about me I miss all of the people I worked with there, but I so do not miss the job! I had asked Anna to pass along my email so hopefully I’ll hear from a few others too

I’m so ready for Friday to be here! I have a few small projects to work on tomorrow, they shouldn’t take long. Between tests (kids’ tests) I’ll probably be working on the website some more.
