Patrick took Monday off because we had such a crappy weekend LOL! Chris has already heard this story but the rest of you haven’t. Ready? Ok first off, Saturday morning we get up, I make breakfast.. everything is going normal. We have breakfast, I take Hayleigh out to go pee. When I came back in I smelled this horrible electrical smell!
Having had a house fire before, I start to think the worst! I walked over to where Brittany was standing between the hallway and kitchen and the smell is even stronger. So I’m thinking at first that the fridge may be having problems. Which would really suck! Then I look at Patrick to ask if he smells it. His PC is off, he’s sitting in the floor with the side of the case off! So the first thought that comes to mind is he’s either overclocked it too high and burned it up or something has happened to it. He doesn’t smell anything across the room where he’s sitting. I made him get up and come smell what we were smelling. It was the motor in the heat pump! So he tried calling the company again.. ugh.. fourth time in 2 months… They’re not in on Saturdays. They were horrible about never returning phone calls or coming out to fix the problem when we tried to get them out here anyway. So he called another guy. 20 minutes and $145 later… it’s fixed. I want a job that pays $145 for 20 mins of work… Patrick got his PC back up and running and our Saturday progressed as planned.
Sunday, we get up, I make breakfast… just as Patrick’s eggs hit the hot skillet… power goes out. Luckily I’d just finished making everyone else’s breakfast and he likes his eggs over easy
The power was out for 5 hours!
So yeah Patrick took a personal day on Monday to help make up for our half-lost weekend
Or at least that’s the excuse we’re going with
Monday we also got a new addition to the family!! Our nephew John Mark was born! He was a whole month early but weighed 5lbs 13oz and was 18 inches! I will post a pic of him in my personal album as soon as I can. As of yesterday, baby and Crystal were doing very well.
Yesterday I got 3 articles out and most of chapter 1 of my Java homework done. Today I don’t feel nearly as rested as I should but I hope to get at least 3-4 articles out and more homework done.

I walked over to where Brittany was standing between the hallway and kitchen and the smell is even stronger. I looked over and there was smoke coming from Brittany’s ears. She’d been studying for her test again because “A 90% is not good enough. I must achieve perfection.”
So I called Jeff in to investigate the situation. Sure enough, brain overload. Jeff sees this quite often when I’m in the middle of trying to finish 20 articles and 3 weeks worth of homework.
This is not to be confused with the smoke caused by ignorant parents on CNN videos. Parent smoke has a different color and odor. It is usually accompanied by “OMG” c/p messages on IM and a minimum 120 wpm typing speeds. Different steps must be taken to stop these particular smoke signals.
But, long story short, thanks to the quick thinking of Doc Jeff, 10 minutes and 1 bowl of microwaved mac-n-cheese later, all was well again.
Oh, and then I took Hayleigh out to pee again. I don’t know why the smoke always sends her into a frenzy. You’d think she’d be use to it by now.
LOL I would say you should have been in bed at 3:35am, but I like your “tired and goofy” messages too much
