Ok, you all know me. I’m thrifty. I think it’s important, especially in today’s economic ’slowdown’ … *roll eyes*… Anyway, I think it’s important to save money and spend wisely. Today’s Political Ticker on CNN talks about Obama buying more ads than Clinton.
Normally I wouldn’t care how much he spends. I think the whole political race process has been screwed up for years. Now I gotta wonder why he’s making such an effort to spend more than Clinton. They’re both obviously very competitive people. What started off with hugs and handshakes is now escalating to arguments and fights about who’s right and who’s wrong. Here is the article on CNN if you’re interested.
You usually hear things about how this candidate uses viagra or botox, or that one cheated on his wife.. things I don’t care about. But I have to stop and think about this one. I read late last week that Clinton’s campaign is running out of money, what ever that means. They don’t have millions to spend now? Only mere hundreds of thousands..? *sniff* poor them! On the other hand, you have Obama purposely spending more than Clinton. Why? Is he spending boatloads of money on bad advertising? Don’t the presidential candidates think their names are saturated enough on the internet? Is he spending money wisely or just throwing it around like confetti? Why does he feel he needs to spend more than her? They should be focusing on their next speech or debate, not on MORE advertising. We know their names.
So that has me thinking about things I don’t normally care about during election year. Now I’m kind-of getting why they throw things like cheating out into public view. If a person cheats on their spouse, what does that say about their personal integrity and honesty? What does it say about their ability to commit? Does it mean that Clinton may be the better choice since she stood by a cheating husband? Does it mean Obama may be the better choice because he’s never cheated (or at least never been caught at it)?
Oh well… just my random thoughts of the morning
