5.5 hours and 10 infected files later… I’m finally finished with my virus scans. Don’t ask how I managed to get 10 viruses within the short amount of time I was on MySpace, because I honestly don’t know. The only people on my friends list are family and close friends. So check your PC!

Because I work and bank on my PC, I have some pretty serious virus protection on it. I get aggravated sometimes that I have to answer my security questions just to check my bank balance, but hey, it’s safe and secure right? Windows firewall settings are custom, I don’t keep cookies, I keep my protection up to date…

UGH… One 15 minute visit to MySpace and I’m on the laptop for several hours because my pc is undergoing scans to find the culprit. I’m NOT a happy camper at the moment!

You go download some good virus protection! Not that it’ll keep EVERYTHING out…

For several months now every time I log into MySpace, I end up with viruses. This morning I logged in for about 15 minutes and had 1 trojan, 1 worm and 3 registry key change requests. I can’t express enough how important it is to have good antivirus protection running at all times. The following pics can speak for themselves.

So why leave MySpace over it? Because that’s the only site I visit that riddles my pc with viruses EVERY single time I visit it.

This morning while browsing CNN, this headline jumped out at me Thrift stores profit from recession. Please tell me that comes as a shock to… NO ONE! Of course some of the cheapest (and best) places to shop are going to shine when people can’t afford to shop in their usual places. If you have children, you know how quickly they grow and how “new-looking” their clothes can be by the time they out grow them. It’s a ridiculous waste of money to insist on buying new clothing for children. Thrift stores are awesome ways to buy “excellent - new without tags” clothes. Some thrift stores are also associated with larger companies to help support the purchases of medical equipment and other important things used by communities.

Oh, and… Happy New Year!! (yesterday lol) I hope everyone has a wonderful and prosperous 2009!!

I was just reading CNN and it occurred to me - other people are idiots. Ok maybe not all of them but most I’ll warn you ahead of time, I’m in a quite goofy mood today.

Top 5 Idiots, in no particular order:

Movie Critics - I can’t tell you the last time I agreed with a movie critic. Do they get paid to give their opinion of a movie? If so, can I do it too? My opinion will differ greatly from the majority and maybe even give people reasons to go watch little-known movies instead of the “good” ones. Hmm.. maybe that’s the issue.. do critics get paid by the film company itself? Now that makes more sense. Then again would people really allow themselves to be paid to give a bad movie a good report? How much money are we talking about?

Politicians - give me a break. Do I really need to explain this one? If you hold a political office, don’t rent hookers, snort coke or do anything else illegal. People will dig up the dirt, or powder and publish it in every form of media known to man. Then you’ll have people like me giving their opinion of you in their blog.

Fanatics - Great (recent) example: Michael Newdow. He’s the Athiest doctor/lawyer from California trying (again) to have God’s name removed from the inauguration of our next President. Does anyone else see this as a complete oxymoron? The guy doesn’t want God’s name mentioned because it offends his non-beliefs. He simply doesn’t want religion crammed down his throat, right? So he’ll take his non-belief and try to cram it down the throats of an entire nation. I honestly don’t understand how a person or set of people can be so selfish. After all, America was founded on Christian beliefs. That’s just a part of the history of the nation, why try to rob an entire nation of that history in the pursuit of selfishness?

“Specialists” with no hands-on experience - Parenting consultants with no children, single or divorced marriage counselors.. how can a specialist help you if they have no hands-on experience? I wouldn’t want to give people advice on how to change a flat tire.. I’ve never done it. To parenting consultants with no children: psst… it’s ok to spank.. no, really it is! And there’s a HUGE line between disciplinary spanking and abuse. Forget all this fine line crap.

People who make everything digital then expect piracy to just go away so they can make more money - So you make software, movies or music and offer it digitally? The Internet is a HUGE tool that allows people to download things VERY fast! I have a great solution: don’t offer a digital version! TaDaa! That fixes everything. I mean you won’t sell anything, but that fixes the piracy issue
